17 June 1971

I am Mevlana.
We came with the one who comes,
With the one who says, "We laughed."
We walked with the one who loves.

Soft wool ball does not bear knitting needle that is hard.
Wool ball's knot is not untied with sorrow.
If each wool ball is wound saying, "Good deed,"
If place is given to patience, [if one is patient]
Then its knot is easily untied.

'Thanking God' increases [your God-given share], does not decrease [it].

Each oath is taken in the name of Allah;
However, it finds its place
If it is decided to take the oath the last [as a last resort].
Do not dot [end] each word [statement/promise] with oath;
My Allah knows [already] your heart.

There are many [humans] who come to the flowing water.
The one who takes his/her jug, comes,
Even if it drips, he/she waits.
It means this: abundant faith.

My Allah looks
Not at the body height
But at the heart purity.
Fat human serves his/her flesh,
Pure heart [serves] his/her heaven.

I am the coming one of the [spiritually] mature one[s],
I am the one who became pir and reached [HIM].
I am deep lover of The Giver.
I am always next to the one
Who thinks about giving, more than taking.

Waiting falls
Onto the one who prunes the grapevine, [and]
Onto the one who rolls up his/her sleeve;
Of course what he/she waits for, happens.

Of course one looks at the silver on earth, [silver==matter; gold==spiritual meaning]
[because] With silver each path opens.
However, heart path
Is opened with gold.

19 June 1971

I am Mevlana.
Each human opens hand upward, [to open hand==to pray]
"My Allah, let it be not like that but like this," he/she says.
If he/she knew that the best deed for him/her
Is the one that is given to him/herself...
If it is [an] eye that sees, then of course he/she understands that he/she is wrong.
However,
My Allah did not make seeing, God-given share.
Human knew [about] the event day by day,
Or even, minute by minute.
Because nobody knows what is going to happen one minute later,
Except my Allah.

Blessing is the one that is [God-]given.
The one who is faithful thanks God for each one that is given,
He/she thinks about the one who gets less. [he/she thinks about the one who gets less, and thanks God for his/her own God-given share]
[because] If you look at the one who gets more,
Your peace runs away. [you become uneasy]
Uneasiness is to look for the one that does not happen.
Thank HIM for the one that happens so that its surrounding widens.

In word, each event comes as [seems] easy.
[however,] The one who enters the event
Is confused about which direction to turn to.
[but] There is no need to be confused:
Refer [transfer/submit it] to my Allah,
HE makes you find your [? HIS ?] direction.

The one who greets the greeting one, is each one, [the one who returns the greeting, is each one]
The one who bends waist for the greeting, is the wise one. [the one who returns the greeting by bowing, is the wise one]
However, for the one who turns his/her back to one's greeting,
No greeting is necessary.
Greeting is in the name of my Allah.
The one who turns his/her back, he/she is not greeted.

20 June 1971

I am Mevlana.
We took the good deed word,
We gave [it] to HIS human.
Do not play [it] as saz, [saz=a stringed instrument (which somewhat resembles a lute)]
Do not roll [it] up as knot:
Give place to patience, [be patient]
Path opens, order finds its place.

Ship does not go without captain,
Even if it goes, it does not find the path.
Captain of the ship
Resembles the one who is at the head [in command] of the home.
Even if there is wave at the sea, [even if the sea is rough, wavy]
Even if it gives water to the ship, [even if the ship takes in some water]
Its hour [time] comes, it calms down,
Ship arrives in the harbor.
[in a similar manner,]
Knot of the wool ball
Is untied with patience.
If you burn fire in the stove,
Smoke rises from the chimney.
[when] Its fire becomes ember,
Smoke stops too.

The one who chooses, the one who is chosen, is
Neither from me nor from you,
But from my Allah.
Think of The Giver,
Do not load fault on HIS human.
Do not say, "Suffering does not end."
If there is suffering that you will experience,
You suffer
Neither because of that nor this,
But because of your destiny.

Give your hand,
Open your tongue,
Do not say, "Difficult,"
Try to overcome the difficulty,
Try to knit the wool ball on earth.
You will knit,
As much as you knit, you will see.
The most beautiful is, while knitting on earth,
To see the help of the human. [that one human helps the other one]
Human's help is [human's help shows]
The one who knows HIS path,
The one who walks for HAK.
Let one not be scared of the one
Who goes on HAK's path.

Let it not be asked saying, "Is its end good deed?"
What my Allah gives is good deed,
Let you have no doubt. [do not doubt it]

Let one not swear. [be careful when you take oath in the name of Allah]
Oath:
If you use my Allah's name
Not to wind your wool ball, but instead
To sow discord among human[s],
To make allegation[s],
Then it is mistake.
[oath,] It means, "My Allah is witness."
For [something] that even yourself you do not know that it is right,
How do you put my Allah as witness?
To make what my Allah sees, witness to human,
Is to consider human as superior.
There is no obligation whatsoever
To give any explanation to human.

Each event comes as difficult on the day [when it happens],
[however,] The one that passes, is forgotten.

We ignited the stove,
We threw out the smoke,
We closed the door.
Cold air [is] because of the snow.
Let cold not come from the wool ball.
The one that comes from the snow
Is the one that takes the cover. [you cover yourself and feel comfortable against the cold of the snow]
The one that comes from the human
Is the one that takes the sorrow.
The One Who is his/her Owner
Is The One Who loves HIS human.
Do not occupy yourself with sorrow:
The one that is referred [transferred/submitted] to my Allah
Is the one of which the salvation is seen,
[is the one of which] The knot is untied.

If the handkerchief takes [the form of] its mold,
It does not give fault to the pocket.
For that [reason], you put [it in the pocket] after folding.
Similarly, if word is said before folding,
It makes pucker [wrinkle/fault]. [think before you talk so that you do not break heart with your words...]

Four words,
One "saz." [saz=a stringed instrument (which somewhat resembles a lute); saz==song of heart]
Even music is not pleasant if it is monotonous.
[to make it pleasant,] Saz mixes with word.
At the place where saz does not mix,
Word stays without taste.

Meyhane: for the one who wants wine. [meyhane= bar/restaurant like public place in 14th century where wine was served]
Cupbearer is the name of the one who carries the [wine] jug,
Drunk [is the name of the one] who holds the [wine] glass.
Lover is the name of the one who plays saz, who says word [who sings],
Love-crazed [is the name of the one] who falls on [HIS] path, [who takes HIS path]
[and] Who knows that he/she fell [in HIS deep love].

26 June 1971

I am Mevlana.
Let one not tire the mind [let one not think hard about]
With the color of his/her face, [race]
With the equivalent of his/her heart, [religion/faith]
With what the one that is presented, gives,
With the grain calculation of the sand. [don't try to count the grains of the sand]

Food is cooked on the stove.
Bird promenades on the branch of the tree.
Each event [is] at its appropriate place.

Do not separate
Your foot from the water,
Your head from the shade.

Do not mix the stomach with the heart.

The one who is faithful knows,
At each table, his/her chat is in accordance with the heart.

When 'drunk' is said:
It is the one that enters between the heart and the stomach.

Let no [bad] word be said about the flow of the water.

My coming is neither for table nor for ballast,
But for chat only.
[my coming is] Neither to entertain heart [neither to entertain you]
Nor to fill notebook.
Our path is like in the example of caravansary,
It is full with our travelers.
Let the one who comes exist
As well as the one who hears,
As well as the one who stays away from the chat,
As well as the one who adds the chat to the daily event,
As well as the one who throws the ship to the sea...

[spiritual] Maturity is neither in age nor in head... [spiritual maturity does not depend on physical age nor on intelligence...]

Our prayer is asked about,
"Mistake," is said.
[however,] Mistake is in the one that is not known:
"Muhammeden Resulullah"
Is said when it is wished to my Allah,
[as well as] To HIS Representative.
"Muhammedur Resulullah"
Means that "he is The Representative of my Allah." [he=Prophet Mohammad]
...
...
My life is necessary for my Darling,
My blood [is necessary] for my body.
Body on earth, my life on soft path.
Soft path's sand is a lot.
On sand, footprint stays,
The one who comes behind, [and goes to] where path the goes,
[he/she] Sees the footprint too.
The one who goes on stony path,
Neither does he/she walk comfortably,
Nor does he/she leave any footprint.
On rocky path, there is no tree either,
It does not take human under its shade.
Walk the path on the sand.

Flowing water is not sequestered,
Its source is not given [to any one person, because it belongs to all]. [flowing water flows to the ocean] [ocean==God]
At the place where water flows, there is no dirt.

Tiredness [is] in body,
[spiritual] Maturity [is] in the one who goes [on HIS path],
Food is cooked in pan. [the one who goes on HIS path may get tired, but he/she would mature spiritually similar to how food cooks in a pan...]

We came from the day
On which it was given with ney, [ney=nay, a reed flute (often used to play Mevlevi music)]
[on which] It was said, "Hey, saints!"
Ney still gives the same sound,
However, no word is said about the one
Who said, "Hey, saints!"

1 July 1971

I am Mevlana.
Our table, our law,
Always one is our word,
Our heart is with the one who loves.

One prostrates
Not to arrive at the display of my Allah,
But by feeling HIS love inside.

I am in deep love with Darling
Because of my life.
I am in deep love with Darling
Since I knew to come to my senses.
I am in deep love with Darling
Because of all [humans].

Lake is the bed of the stagnant water.
Path belongs to human who goes with his/her [spiritual] washer.
Faithful human knows the path,
He/she gives hand to human who says HIS word.

Eat your yogurt while sharing.

If you wish for convenient path,
If you wish to know The Meaning,
You distinguish the night from the day.
[Previous verses may be better understood under the light of the following information: during sleep, spirit of the human who has permission from Allah meets with other spirits of the same spiritual level and/or his/her saint. Human's spiritual education continues during such meetings that take place in Light...]

Mirror is placed on the wall,
The one who knows, sees,
The one who does not know, walks.

6 July 1971

I am Mevlana.
Feverish wool ball
Looks for soft path.
The one who looks for, finds;
The one who finds, sees.
Let the vision be [vision==to see HIM in HIS creations]
Not on the display,
But in The Giving.

Beauty is in the one who is loved,
In the one who loves.
Maturity is in the one who gives.

Irrelevant event does not come to human. [all events are for a reason]

If human is [spiritually] immature,
He/she does not even laugh [smile] at the beautiful one.

The one who is feverish
Is the one who looks at the event from the difficulty.

The one who says word about sand grain
Is the one who protects his/her eye.
Do not protect irrelevantly,
[so that] You do not look around, without path.

8 July 1971

I am Mevlana.
[on earth, during his/her lifetime,]
Each traveler takes the test,
The test result is given to his/her hand.
If you react with sorrow,
If you say, "What happened to my situation?"
Then you fail the test.
If you say, "It came from my Allah, HE tried me,"
If you expect good deed from the one that comes,
The outcome is bright.

When you do a job of yours,
Think about other [person] before yourself
So that it does not harm [him/her].
Do not forget that
The harm that you give to someone else knowingly,
Sooner or later occurs to you too
In [a] moment that you do not hope for,
[in a moment] That you do not expect.

How much ever the law may seem as unbearable,
It is necessary that one conforms [to it].
Sheria does not say, "Abolish the table,"
It does not forbid your life
If you do not prevent the life of another one.
You, if you play with the life [of another one], [if you hurt/harm another person]
Then you have to obey the order of the sheria
Whether you want [it], or not.
If you wish for freedom,
First untie the ones whom you tie.

9 July 1971

I am Mevlana.
The one who gives path to the peace [the one who experiences peace]
Is the one who knows him/herself.
He/she is the one who trusts The Giver.
If you say, "It happened, he/she/it did not come,
[or] He/she/it stopped, he/she did not ask,"
If you exaggerate the event,
Then you can not find the peace.

Beauty is neither in throne nor in crown,
Beauty is in the deep love that is put in the heart.
Yet deep love, it is not put in the heart: it is born, it grows...

Death comes to the body, but never to the heart.
"What comes from the ground, returns to the ground," is said.
Wrong.
[the correct saying is:]
The one that comes from Darling, returns to Darling.

If you look and see
Through the hand of the [spiritual] washer,
Through the tongue of the one who knows,
Through the heart of the one who loves,
Then you exult,
Then you cross the body and you overflow.
Then if you look behind, you are so amazed. [you are amazed when you see how much forward you walked on HIS path...]

When you join your hand[s] [to worship],
When you prostrate [to worship],
Do not wrap the earth, do not ask about the wool ball. [do not think about other things, concentrate while worshipping]

There is no small or big one of the one who takes duty.
Human does not come to earth to fill [a] place,
However, he/she does not know that he/she comes on duty.
The one who knows, works loyally;
The one who does not know, fights saying, "Earth,"
He/she walks around on earth saying, "Garden."
The one who takes the mirror in the hand,
The one who discovers the secret of the earth,
The one who opens his/her eye and sees,
He/she says, "For the deep love of my Allah,"
He/she is filled with HIS deep love.

10 July 1971

I am Mevlana.
From the rose of the special garden,
From the water of the big river [that flows to the ocean], [ocean==God]
What did we take, whom did we give?
We spread in front of the one who loves,
We entered the heart of the human who came.
We loved, we are loved.
Let my Allah be pleased,
Let Kaaba [of hearts] be your dream,
Let the going reach The Reality.
Let the patience be the key,
[let] Your deep love [be] the lock.
Let lives pass through the door that opens,
[let lives] Arrive in Darling.
Amen.

The one who knows his/her Real One,
The one who arrives in his/her Real One, is one [same].
[however,] The one who enters the body and
The one who falls onto the earth are not one. [the one who falls in love with the earth are not one] [Every human comes to earth in body. Some of them know The Meaning, while some others fall in love with the earth. They are different...]

You gather the flower[s],
You make [a] bunch,
You tie [them] with [a] string,
You cage [them].
However,
What is the reality of the string too?
It is flower too.
The one that is real
Is the one that is given as duty,
Is the one who knows the duty.

The one that your spirit takes,
The one that [your spirit] calls 'heart'
Is nourished with deep love.
Mesnevi is the salad of the deep love,
It whets one's appetite.
Peace is the salad of the body,
It prevents [it] from falling apart,
It ties the flower. [its duty is similar to a string tying the flowers in a bunch]
If each human knows,
If he/she does not say word [complain] about the string that ties him/herself,
Then he/she finds peace.
The one that ties human [is]: unity, connection.
The one who takes peace, finds our path
Because, he/she knows where the peace comes from.

He opens the chat,
Do not say, "Mevlana runs away from chatting."
His chat continues without interruption
Until doomsday.
However, human has body.
Human's body does [can] not endure [a] chat
[that continues] Until doomsday.
He/she may feel asleep, he/she may be busy...
How does he/she always sit? [how can he/she sit continuously?]

The difficulty is in trying to solve.
If you refer [transfer/submit] to my Allah,
Then you overcome the difficulty.

Wool ball's knot is not because of the winding; it unties.

To please [someone's] heart, to love the human,
Is to reach the favor of my Allah.
You are loved as much as you love.

Let the one that you see [on the ground], stay on ground; [do not grab someone else's share]
Let the one that you hear, stay in [with] you; [do not gossip]
Let the one that you know, come to me,
Let it spread to all [humans]
If what you know is for the good deed of the human.

I am Ali, I came,
I took the word.
Braveness and shyness should be one [together],
The one who takes sip [from spiritual water], should know this.
The word that you say to HIS human,
Is not [a] giving of my Allah. [it is you who are responsible of your words]

I am Ali:
I being Ali, is not because of my exceptional creation.
My deep love is bruited about,
My body rests,
My spirit is steeped.
The one who takes breath, and the one who gives [breath] are all one [same], [the one who is in body on earth, and the one who migrates to after earth life are the same]
The one that is in between, is the difference in body,
Like you and me.

Why is rush mat put on the ground?
In order to make the body comfortable.
One may sit without rush mat too.
[however,] Human always thinks of being comfortable,
For that [reason], he/she works, he/she wears him/herself out;
In order to sit for one hour,
He/she keeps on running for one lifetime. [human's lifetime on earth is like one hour in eternal life]

Similar to how you take peace,
Know to give [peace] to human too.
The one who knows 'to give' more than 'to take,'
Makes the peace taken [by others] as much as he/she takes [it him/herself] too.
However, the one who says,
"Let me be [in peace],
Let me expect from you,"
Is mistaken.
He/she becomes load on the one whom he/she expects from.
The weight that the load gives,
Maybe, it is lightened [made less heavy] for that human,
If you can endure the weigh that it will give you.

Our day
Looks at the most beautiful one of the days.
What the sun gives, is not to itself,
But always to you.
What the soil gives,
What it nourishes in its arms
Is always to you.
It is always given to you, and... [know The Giver, say, "Thank YOU"...]

Omar says,
The one who says, "Always to me,"
Is the one who shares all.
The one who shares all,
Is the one who fights saying, "Earth."
The one who fights saying, "Earth,"
Is the one who works hard in vain.
Earth is neither in [for] you nor in [for] me,
Nor in [for] the one who comes [to earth], nor in [for] the one who goes [to after earth life].

When he/she comes to earth,
When HIS deep love is born in [his/her] heart,
When he/she returns [to after earth life] as [just] said: [i.e. while being in deep love with HIM]
Universe is yours,
WHOSE are you?

You drink the wine;
Is it you who drank [it],
[or] Did the wine drink you?
If you drank [it],
If you conformed to the flow of the water,
[then it is] Beautiful.
[however,] If wine drank you,
If it choked you in its [? your ?] hole,
[what a] Big loss!
Then,
You regret that you fight saying, "Earth."
