ONEness of HEARTs
VOLUME 3
Part 14

18 September 1976

I am Mevlana.
Our temperament, our water
Are equal to our heart;
Harmony is set up with all [humans].
We tried to love,
We tried,
We learned.
We found the vision when we learned. [vision==to see HIM in HIS creations]

Let selam [peace/greeting] be to all of you;
Let each one who remembers, find,
Let the universe be known with its OWNER.

It is not necessary to give up
The one who matures [spiritually].
At the place where the [spiritual] water flows,
What love brings
Is, of course, tolerance.
Yet
“They are equal to one another”
Can never be said.
Tolerance is not seen in every one who loves.
Love and tolerance make human complete.
However,
Neither love brings tolerance
Nor tolerance [brings] love;
They are distinctly different virtues.
Human who takes both of them into his/her bodily constitution
Is human who blinks at the [spiritual] levels [degrees] of the humanity.
“Why does he/she not look [continuously without blinking]?” is being said.
Because moment comes,
At the place where it is necessary to be tolerant,
Human becomes [self appointed] punisher.
For that [reason], we said, “He/she blinks.”
The one who looks directly [without blinking]
Is the one who dies before dying. [to die before dying==to perceive The Reality on earth, while one is in body]

The one who sees quince
Thinks of its hardness;
Let it not be forgotten that
When eaten,
It grinds the lime of the stomach.

(Question: What does ‘the lime of the stomach’ mean?)

‘The lime of the stomach’ [means]
Becoming [like] stone,
Loosing its sensitivity.

(Question: Will it be eaten while the stomach is empty?)

However it is wished.

Do not throw the stone at the one
Who put the stone on your path:
Move it aside,
Continue on your path.
Because
He/she takes the stone that you throw, in hand again,
[and he/she] Throws [it] at you.
The one who says,
“My soft path, my Allah,”
Is the one who, in each event, takes the fault to him/herself, [who accepts to be faulty even if he/she is not]
Like in the example of Yunus.
By taking the fault to yourself,
You do not of course become faulty,
You do not stay away from the giving of my Allah. [i.e. you are rewarded with the giving of my Allah]

At the place where you say, “I am the owner,”
Do not forget The One Who is your OWNER.

Meydan is yours,
Path is yours,
The direction that you wish, is yours.
You looked for Close Friend,
You found Close Friend,
You became ONE with all [humans].
Say, “Ya Allah,” [ya Allah==thank YOU for my God-given share, I accept without any complaint]
Conform to the one who calls. [? Conform to The One Who calls. ?]
If you say, “There is no one who calls?”
Then you are mistaken.
You wished for the [answer of the] question,
I gave,
“Let us give hand in hand, let us conform to call,”
I said.

(Question: Is there one who calls?)

Let one plead,
Let hundred Ayetel Kursi be read, [let Ayetel Kursi be read hundred times] [Ayetel Kursi=255th verse in the Bakarah sura [2nd sura] of Koran]
Let one say,
“My Allah, direct [me] to the right [correctness],”
Let the one who knows to come to his/her senses
Be  seen like that.
Let one not ask for reason.
As said before,
“Let one claim the ownership of the faults
Like in the example of Yunus.”

I gave before:
“Let one conform to the one whom he/she visits,” I said. [the guest should conform to the rules of the place that he/she visits]
[if he/she does so, then]
At the place where he/she comes to,
His/her name is remembered.

Let one stay away from oath.

Guest is loved on the day when he/she conforms.
If he/she does not conform,
He/she is criticized.
For that [reason],
At the place where one goes to,
One should know his/her place, his/her direction.
One should not give load [to other people].
Human should think about [other] humans before him/herself.

If you say,
“Let me do my good deed myself,
Let me close every door that is open,”
You stay in “I/me.” [you stay in your ego]
For that [reason],
In your good deed, take all [humans] in your heart so that
Your path opens.
Do not say,
“Why to let someone else come as partner in my good deed?”
Because good deed gets bigger as much as it is shared.

Let us go,
Let us give our hand in the name of HAK.
Let us say, "Eyvallah,"
To the one who does not give [his/her hand],
[in such a case,]
Let us leave the word to HAK.

When you take the mirror in hand,
What you see
Is your face that you look at.
However you look,
You see like that.
When you are owner of your [? HIS ?] LIGHT,
You melt as much as you look.

Form is necessary for statute;
Human is faraway from form.
“How?” is being said.
Human’s form does not conform from one day to [another] day; [human’s form changes from one day to the next one]
It does not conform materially and spiritually. [human changes physically and spiritually]
“How?” is being said.
When he/she is born, [he/she is] baby,
He/she grows up and becomes old.
Therefore, even body is not tied to one form.
When it is like that, [? When human matures [spiritually] like that, ?]
To give place to solid mold [form]
Does neither educate nor grind human.

“I gave sound to the well,
I took my sound back,” you say.
It is not enough to give sound:
Bring down the bucket to the water too.
It does not come [up], of course, as empty.
[however,] The one who takes [hears] the sound [from the well]
Does not find the word as appropriate. [stagnant water/lake/well==religious fanatic]

Omar says:
Human has four directions:
One of the four is open to his/her heart,
One [is open] to his/her hal,
One [is open] to his/her [? HIS ?] path,
And one [is open] to his/her vision. [vision==to see HIM in HIS creations]
Turning is that:
It makes four directions, one,
When he/she joins with deep love,
It makes human, pir.

(Question: If you add deep love to these four hals, then you become pir, is that so?)

Eyvallah.

“What is meant by turning?” is being said.
Master of path calls [it] ‘sema,’ [sema=whirling dance performed by the Mevlevi dervishes]
Master of heart calls [it] ‘nema.’ [nema=growth; increase]
Whether it is sema or nema,
The place that is gone to is HAK.

“Do I try to search?” is being said.
It is requirement for being human.

(Question: What is meant by ‘searching’?)

The search that necessitates
To set up the order,
To come to the [same] level [as all humans],
To turn to nest. [nest==Mevlana’s/Garib’s congregation; all humans who read and understand the teachings of ONEness of HEARTs]

Master of the path does not return,
Master of hal does not go out. [is not extinguished]
Say to the one who says, “Let me burn”:
Don’t you know how to become ash?
Don’t you ask the one who knows?

Let us love;
When we love,
Let us see every hal as nice. [? Let us tolerate every hal. ?]

Let us open our heart,
Let us say our hal.

If human knows his/her place,
He/she does not complain about the night,
If he/she believed in The One That comes.
[Previous three verses may be better understood under the light of the following information: during sleep, spirit of the human who has permission from Allah meets with other spirits of the same spiritual level and/or his/her saint...]

Be entrusted to my Allah.
You took the one that is asked,
Know.

Goodbye.
Lailaheillallah Muhammedur Resulullah. [Allah is The only One to be worshiped, and Mohammad is HIS Representative.]

[Texts written between square brackets and some punctuation are added for the sake of making the meaning clearer.]
