20 June 1975           

I am Mevlana.
The stones of the path of the one who takes path because of amazement, are cleaned.
“How?” is being said.
Amazement is the sign of coming to one’s senses.
Let greeting be to all of you.

The one who comes, the one who laughs, the one who sees The Beautiful One on the day,
Let him/her find on our path.

The one who says, “Let me walk through the passage,”
Chooses the narrow one of the path,
However, he/she goes on flat path.

The one who says, “I do not play,”
Is he/she the one who herds the sheep and the lamb?

The one who says,
“Let me know my close friend,
Let me set up my assembly,”
Can not find [any] place to stopover
Because he/she can never see The Close Friend.

Close friend is not the one that is sought but The One Who is known.
“Close friend” is The One That is called The Close Friend,
That each human is seen as Close Friend.
If you do not see [like that], fault is not in him/her
But in the one who does not see as Close Friend.

Raise the neck to[ward] The Reality,
Plunge your eye into the stars.
The nature says to the body:
Moon [is] in me, star [is] in me, my love [is] in all humans.
I work not to see but to be satiated,
The more I get full, the more I get used to the universe.

If you divide trouble into trouble, [then] your trouble increases.
There is no mistake.
Since human says, “There is trouble in the event,”
Then he/she divides the trouble into trouble.


You can not change what the destiny writes,
If it is written, you can not roll [it] up.
He/she goes as it flows,
Day comes, he/she drives his/her herd too.

No opening occurs in the [divine] structure,
[unless] You come to the door.

Do not say, “I am defeated”:
If you stay [are] in difficulty,
[then] The bridge that you think of crossing
Is built as passage;
[however,] If there is no permission [from God] to cross, the bridge collapses.

Niyazi says:
In desert, in lake, in word, in tongue,
Wish that your [spiritual] washer opens your path in heart.

The one who carries load is called as porter.   
In the universe, each human
Is the porter of him/herself.

Be entrusted to my Allah.

I am Mevlana.
[if] He/she does not mature [spiritually], we wash [spiritually], [? We do not mature [spiritually [because we already reached HIM]], we wash [spiritually], ?]
We present [The Meaning] to the one who hears.
We burn with the one who loves.
My Yunus says:
If you burn with the one who burns,
Do you freeze with the one who [whose fire] goes out?

The one whom you say about, “He/she does not mature [spiritually],”
Is among the ones who mature.
[spiritual] Maturation of the one who is [spiritually] mature is known.
The one who knows does not say, “He/she does not mature.”

Dog conforms both to brawl and to path-fellow;
Cupbearer puts [wine] both in the full one and the empty one.

Did moon come to flatness and [did it] stop on flatness?
Did the path enter the word [did the path join the chat]
And did the one who walks on it, stop?

Quilt protects from cold;
Rope separates from ground.
You do not put the new one on the ground, [the new one==ONEness of HEARTs]
You do not take the old one from the ground. [the old one==old spiritual teachings]
You do not ask the soil from the moon, [moon==Hazrat Ali; soil, ground==1. earth, 2. matter]
You do not find path from the soil to the star. [star==saint]
Yet the moon knows the soil,
Takes its each hal.
If you say, “Does it give if you ask?”
The known of each one who knows [the special subject that is known by each person who knows]
Stays in the one who has his/her secret.
To know is beautiful, to make known [is] special.

Universe is palace;
The one who is proper comes to HIS Throne;
My Allah knows the one who is proper.
The one who is written about,
The one who is remembered with his/her name,
The one who is on HIS path,
Where he/she will go, is HIM.
What is remembered, what is sought is the palace.
What shah gives is what the one who comes wishes for, [what the one who comes wishes for, shah gives that]
Because shah is the sieve of the one who wishes.

If there is no flour, no sieve is needed;
If there is no human, then there is no place for the universe.
If we exist, it is because of HIS Being,
If we are Darling, it is because of HIS ONEness.

Eye does not know eye if there is no mirror,
Word does not arrive at word if ear does not hear.
Universe does not exist,
If no fire burns in human’s heart.

What is universe?
[it is] What is known by the one who knows;
[it is] What is heard by the one who does not know; [to hear==to take lessons from events]
[it is] What is seen by the one who does not hear;
[it is] What is loved by the one who does not see.
Each human’s view of the universe is not one [the same].
What he/she seeks is not one [the same] either.
However, the point[/dot] where he/she arrives in is one [the same]
Because the place where each human goes to, is the same.

The one who watches [a] play,
Similar to how some [people] sit on the first row, some [sit] on the last row,
Earth situation is [like] this too:
The one who buys his/her ticket early, finds place in front.
It is said, “Does one buy ticket for The Meaning?”
The ticket of The Meaning is in the heart,
Do not think it is in lifetime;
Similar to how the earlier stage of fire is in coal.

Endure my heart, endure…

When you say, “We found the noble one,”
It is similar to eating cooked food as cold.

[for the one who is not on HIS path:]
Wind takes [him/her], torrent finds [him/her].

Human sits up with [thanks to] human; [? Human sits up with [by holding] hand; ?]
Human is kneaded with tongue.


Let my Allah be pleased with all humans.
Let our greeting not stay away until after earth life
From the ones who say, “Life,”
From the ones who ask [about] Darling.

10 August 1975       

I am Mevlana.
At the place where blessing is sought, “value” is not known.
“Why?” is being said.
Blessing is each one that is given, it is not sought.
Even if he/she seeks, no more than what is given is found.

We came with greeting.
We knew what is called as “word”:
It is not game, it is your [spiritual] water.

Do not think that the one that gives [your name] is your ancestor;
The one that gives its name to herd, is the sheep. [you are human; as human you take your place in after earth life according to how you are remembered on earth, not by the name that you get from your ancestors…]

One does not say word [talk] about the food that is not eaten.     

On the coast, one does not ask [about] path;
[because] Path is along [the coast], it is known, [ocean==God]
One goes to the place where it takes to.

The one who opens, sees, [the one who deciphers our chats, sees]
The one who sees, walks.                                      
The one who asks is not the one who does not know;
He/she is the one who says, “Let me not make mistake.”

The one who seeks The Reality, he/she finds in the notebook; [notebook=chats used to be written by Mevlana, using Garib’s hand, in notebooks]
However, he/she reads when its day comes.
Each human weaves his/her lifetime according to his/her destiny;
What he/she weaves is not what he/she reads, but what he/she takes.

Path brings the path,
Path brings human,
He said, my Yunus took the word.
You put heart in the name of the rose,
You heard the name of HAK, on the path of the rose.
Hearing again and again during your lifetime, you became satiated.

Say to the one who says, “[how about] If I do not take?”
The one who can not take is not human.

Dream does not give wish to human,
However, it does not hide the reality.
The question of the one who says, “What is the reality?” opposes the question.
Did you see [any] lie?
I gave to question. [I asked]
Opposite of “reality” is of course “lie.”
However, what is called “lie” is the one that stays on earth.
We gave before:
Earth keeps on turning, [earth keeps on] grinding human.
It both educates and grinds.

Whether it comes as little, whether it gives a lot,
If day’s interpretation stops,
Path would not give to path.

HE gave little, HE made [human] wish a lot,
HE made the one who wished, be selected.
We wished, we asked from HIM.
We sought, we saw from HIM.
If we hit the stone, we did not say, “Because of you,” [we did not blame human]
Yet we still knew, we said:
“My Allah it is Yours, [my Allah, everything is Yours]
Life is Yours,
Direction is Yours,
If I matured, hal is Yours.”

I did not try to emulate,
I did not wish [my fire] to go out.
Do not say that I did not stay on earth:
The one who is loved stays [on earth], he/she is remembered as much as he/she is loved.

To the one who does not know beyond the pleading, [to the one who does not know The Creator, who does not know how to plead,]
To the one who says, “Where do I start, where do I stop?”:
There is no place for worry, start from wherever you wish.
Frame is for the one who measures earth.

I am Yunus:
I do not separate Friday from Thursday.
I do not favor Wednesday over Tuesday.
I do not measure the night, the day.
I am Yunus.
Yunus [was never] in body,
Yunus was never in cause. [Yunus never asked about the cause of events]
Yunus found no fault
In the one who goes,
In The One Who herds.
He did not look for remedy
For the food of the one who was hungry,
For the path-fellow of the one who was full [not hungry].
Why?
Because he knew The Giver.
The love of The Giver is a lot.
There is no separation of The Giver. [The Giver does not favor one human over another]

The one who is hungry gets full through heart,

He/she puts from full heart.

He took the cane in his hand,
Isa [Jesus Christ] entered HIS path,
He found the one who was hungry and the one who was full.
Again it still happened as my Allah said.
Path belongs to the traveler as long as he/she walks.

The One That is distributed [i.e. human] is not educated:
Let us try to gather.
Let us call the one who says, “Educate me,” to heart path,
Let us knead HIS each human in the name of HAK.
Let us not say, “You/me,”
Let us not discriminate [between] the rich, the poor,
Let us not say word in HIS Name.
The one whom/that HE created is HIS,
The one whom/that HE protects is HIS;
HE does not discriminate between rich and poor;
Beautiful or ugly, HE does not favor [one over another].
If we say, “HAK,” we are on HIS path,
We are in the arm of each human, [we support/help him/her]
We are on his/her right, [on his/her] left,
We are in front of him/her, behind him/her.

Shoulder lifts load as much as it takes;
The day on which it can not take, he/she bends forward.
When he/she bends forward,
The fault is not in the one who bends forward
But in the one who gives heavy load to shoulder.
Lift the load first yourself,
What you can carry, load [it] to the one who can carry.
Do not wait that he/she bends forward.
His/her bending forward is not his/her education.
Do not forget that
The One Who educates is HIM,
The One Who grinds is HIM too.
You are responsible for you,
I [am responsible] for me.
Voila, the reality is this.

Let greeting be to all of you.

I am Mevlana.
Hand with hand, his/her heart with the rose finds
The flat one of the path.

My Yunus says:
If we say, “We took, we matured [spiritually], we knew,”
If we nourish the knowledge with deep love,
“[then] It is not 'waiting for arrival' but adding,” we say.
Each moment nourishes each moment,
Decorates the image that will come.
If it is said, “Where does the appearance start?”
At the place that is longed for,
At the place where The Beautiful One is known to be
Appearance is erased, one conforms to The Reality.
What is being said is not in word but in essence.
What is attributed to word is the one that is seen in essence.

The description of the one who knows [when the one who knows, describes]
Does not open the essence of the one who does not know. [how much ever the wise one describes, it does not help if the other person’s heart gate is closed…]

The one who takes the chiseling as easy [the one who considers chiseling as easy and who does not concentrate on it]
Resembles the one who puts the flower in the sea.

Mirror shows your face,
Your face shows your heart.

We gave the word to Abdal. [Pir Sultan Abdal=Sufi saint who lived in the 16th century]
If you add worry to worry [like a snow ball],
If you make [a] ball and throw,
Its rust stays in your hand.
The one who is genuine [human] is the one who gets free of his/her load;
The one who is genuine [human] is the one who preserves his/her form.
“How is the form preserved?” is said.
Even after he/she migrates from the earth, his/her name is not adulterated.
[for example:] “Yunus,” is said, he is remembered,
Like that, he is connected to form,
His earth hal is said [about].
They said my name,
They cried for my death,
They felt very sorry.
They remembered Abdal with form.
We took your greetings.

I am Mevlana.
We tied the bunch in one, we called [all humans] to wholeness.
Whether he/she matures [spiritually] or not,
Even if one does not give from mouth to mouth,
The one that opens does not close.
There is path from intention to intention. [there is path according to his/her intention]
Let it not be said, “How about if path does not conform to intention?”,
Let no [bad] word be said about the one who does not know about his/her [spiritual] maturation.

The one who sings saying, "Song,"
If he/she finds the song as faulty,
Fault is because of his/her solution. [because he/she sings badly]
The One Who Writes gives the one that conforms to his/her heart.
If it does not conform to the heart of the one who says, “Let me solve,”
The fault is not in The One Who writes
But in the one who says, “Let me solve.”

They planted forty trees,
They poured water to [all] forty [of them].
They took care of them while they grew.
What is waited for?
What will the outcome be?
It is burned as wood.
It is planted, its fruit is eaten,
When it became wood, is the fault in tree?
It gave, it gave, it gathered its branch, its root,
Being ash took it out from the earth.
When that day comes, when forest burns,
All of them become ash.
When that day comes, when all of them become ash,
It is asked from the one that is blown.
“Coming into being”, “death” does not stay without any [spiritual] position [degree].
“Isn’t there anyone who stays?” is being said.
Of course not.

It is better than nothing if I am tree
As long as I know that I am human.
If I do not know [that I am human], let me be stone,
Let me hit [myself] from stone to stone,
Let me be winnowed to human’s foot,
Let me be coal, let me be roasted in HIS Flame;
My Allah, I came, let me know my humanity.
Let this be our pleading.

The one who wishes to see, is the one who stays faraway;
The one who is nearby, knows, sees.

Fasting is neither for the body, nor for the one who goes, nor for The Giver:
Fasting is the one that drains from the sieve.
“Let it be open [clear],” is being said.
What is meant by fasting is not hunger but fullness.
What is meant by fullness is scarcity.
Why does the one who is hungry think of the one who is hungry?
Because he/she longs for fullness.
Since the hungry one knows scarcity, the full one knows manyness,
For that [reason] the two of them can not be one [the same].
You should be hungry so that that you know [the one who is] hungry;
You should stay as hungry so that you allay hungry one’s hunger.

Even though “existence erases scarcity” is said,
It does never erase nothingness.

Whatever you present to the one who comes as guest,
He/she rejoices if he/she is hungry;
Whatever you present,
He/she stretches if he/she is full.
Provide the appropriate chat,
Take his/her time to faraway so that he/she stays as hungry, [chat for a long time so that he/she gets hungry]
So that he/she loves what you present,
If you wish to rejoice [him/her].

Turned-away word resembles the extinguished fire: [word of the one who is turned-away [from HIM] resembles the extinguished fire]
Come as close as you wish, it does not warm  [you].
Heart [is] in you, heart [is] in me, deep love [is] in all [humans],
Why do [would] we not get warm?

“The Reality,” we said, we gave before:
The Reality is not seen
When one does not mature [spiritually],
When one does not find place for good deed. [when one is away from making good deed]
Don’t you say, “There is,” to the one who says, “Is there evil?”
You say from tongue to tongue…

Below the ground [is] dark, is it secret?
Face of the sky [is] bright, is it open?
In events, one passes from interpretation to interpretation.
With image, one migrates,
At the place where the image ends, The Reality starts.
One says:
[we did not know] How beautiful were the stones that were/are on earth,
When heads were split [by them].
[because when stone hit the head]
It peeled [one] off from image, it made The Reality be known.

Keep away from opinion if you wish for the arrival. [conform to events without any complaint if you wish to arrive in HIM]
No hole opens,
Four paths are closed, they are not passed.
Whatever they say,
Do not say, “We have arrow, but no bow.”
Our bow is hearts.
Even if we do not wear helmet,
Our four sides are fortress.
If we do not take any shield, if we do not fall in judgment,
[then] We erase the worry, we say, “The writing is from HAK.”

It was not eaten, it can not be eaten,
It can not be looked at badly,
Tree is not watered with blood.
While our water flows and flows,
While our bird sings and sings,
While our weed grows and grows,
Our song is sang,
Our pledge is appropriated.
“Why was it [this] said?” is being said.
The curtain of [spiritual] maturation is opened ajar:
At the place where our water flows, soil does not split,
Our helva is never mixed saying, “He is dead.” [helva=halvah, halva, halavah (a sweet prepared with sesame oil, various cereals, and syrup or honey)] [helva is served [among many other occasions] in memory of a person who passed away]

Does one say word about the sun again?
The one who dazzles, the one who hits [puts] knee [on ground],
His/her path to the sun is seen. [sun==Prophet Mohammad]

Be entrusted to my Allah.
You came saying, “HAK,”
Arrive in HAK,
Know before migrating [to after earth life].

Goodbye.
