I am Mevlana.
The one who is filled with beauty
Is the one who finds with beauty. [is the one who finds beautifully]
Let one not say,
“[I will go] To the beautiful one of the flower,
To the special one of HIS human;”
Let beauty be seen
In every event,
In every surrounding.
Let selam [peace/greeting] be to all of you.
When
“Stone [is] on the ground,
Head [is] in human,”
Is said,
It means: “Protect your foot,
Look around yourself.”
We gave word [we told you] about the passage,
We came to the day that was/is said about.
We saw ship at the shore,
“To the path that is wished,” we said.
With saz, with word, [saz=a stringed instrument (which somewhat resembles a lute)]
My Yunus rolled up with eye:
I did not say, “I wonder if I would go,”
I [just] came, I entered the chat.
I turned the branch, the leaf; [I looked at the branch, at the leaf thoroughly],
I loved the tree from its root [up].
I loved from its root,
I came to its branch,
I gave its fruit to each one who wished.
My word is to [for] the one who says,
“My path is long”:
Path goes as long as lifetime.
The one who comes,
The one who goes
Herds what happens. [herds the events].
However,
What you herd,
Take [it/him/her] with your love,
End with your deep love.
We gave before:
Love is to HIS Attribute
Deep love [is] to HIS Persona.
“We took from earth;
The Lofty One gave,”
We said,
We loved, we loved.
We presented our love to the one who loved.
“How about the one who does not love?” is being said.
The one who loves, is loved.
There is no one who does not love the one who loves.
I am Mevlana.
The existence of spare
Is the narrowness of the one who passes.
Let the one who says, “I stayed in narrowness,”
Stand up and glance at the universe.
Let him/her say,
“Narrowness [is] in me,
[narrowness is] In my heart that does not open.”
If there is dissatisfaction,
It is equal to nonconformity;
Because love in human
Is harmony with the universe.
When it is like that,
Neither dissatisfaction
Nor nonconformity
Is seen.
Of course with events
Human’s lifetime is weaved, weaved...
At the place where there is record,
No witness is searched…
My Yunus says:
Do I say that leaf is witness for soil?
In soil, do I say to water, “Educate!”?
Do I say, “Grind the one that you educate!”?
It is not necessary to say.
Let me wait, let me see,
Let me love while I see,
Let me spread while I love.
Love spreads,
It does not stay in anybody.
The one that is called as the new one [the new one==ONEness of HEARTs]
Is that:
It is return to love.
We gave before:
Only waves clean the ocean.
Wave throws its litter aside [ashore]
In accordance with its bigness.
The [current] day’s events are like that too.
When we take the mirror in hand,
If we look only at our own face,
[then] We stay in narrow.
If we hold [the mirror] toward from human to human,
[then] We take from earth,
We give from The Lofty One.
“What does it mean?” is said.
What is the one that is taken from earth?
[it is] WHAT you see.
What is the one that you give from The Lofty One?
[it is] The one that you conform to… [i.e. one knows that the events are created by HIM, and conforms to them without any complaint...]
We conformed, we will give,
We will weave our net in the universe
With love.
Is the one who is said about, “[he/she is] Hungry,”
The one who does not know his/her place?
Never.
There is place of each human.
The one who knows his/her place,
The one who says, “My path is this,”
Is the one who gives hand to the one who does not know.
If he/she did/does not give,
[then] Let him/her see his/her place in narrow.
Crocus is remembered for its color,
Rose [is remembered] for its equal.
However,
Each flower is beautiful at its place.
If human can give his/her love,
Then he/she is special.
I am Mevlana.
Human knows to hope;
What he/she knows stays in him/herself.
Because what he/she hopes for
Either happens or stays [does not happen].
Is the one that stays, the one who is mistaken? [the one whose hope does not come true, is he/she the one who is mistaken?]
[Previous two verses may also mean the following:
? Either matures [spiritually] or stays [behind on HIS path].
Is the one who stays, the one who is mistaken? [even if he/she stays behind, one matures spiritually sooner or later] ?]
Our pleading should be
With all [humans], for all [humans].
In each morsel that one eats,
One should comb his/her heart,
One should look for the one who does not eat.
There is sweet-hot one of the morsel,
Yet when they descend into human’s stomach
They all are one.
Surely the one that is shared is sweet.
Cold makes [one] look for warm.
When one is cold,
Path opens to HIS human.
“How?” is said.
If you say,
“We dived into the giving,
We saw HIS human in hal,
We gave hand in hand,
We grew warm,”
Then your path is open.
The Reality is together with you
For the one who can see, [if you can see [HIM in HIS creations]]
For the one who can respect The One That exists. [if you can respect The One That exists]
There is hikmet in the birth,
There is ‘himmet’ in [spiritual] maturation. [himmet=sincere effort to reach God]
I am Mevlana.
If you give a lot to the one who says, “Little,”
He/she goes crazy.
If you give little to the one who says, “A lot,”
He/she bows.
My Yunus says:
Let us be
Neither from the ones who go crazy
Nor from the ones who bow.
Let each one of us be filled with the other one.
Little food is better for the one who knows;
He/she finds the stone in scarcity.
HE grinds with stone,
HE melts [crumbs] by hitting and hitting… [stone hitting another stone]
“What is the one that melts?” is being said.
It is necessary that human is like in the example of sand.
If he/she is stone:
You can not melt [the stone] if you hit the sand with the stone.
When HE melts the stone with stone,
When he/she makes him/herself sand, [when he/she becomes sand]
What you call pain is pleasure to [for] you.
If your arms are full,
If it is the path of your heart,
Then disperse the smoke [smoke==doubt]
So that you know the hal that you will become,
So that you know the path that you will set up.
Let our pleading be
To be together with the one who oversteps the limit,
To be together with the one who takes little.
“What is the one that oversteps the limit,
Who is the one who takes little?” is being said.
The one who oversteps the limit
Is the one who says, “Stop!”
To the one who appropriates the disorderly order to him/herself.
The one who takes little [is]:
The one who falls in the judgment of the one
Who oversteps the limit. [? That is a lot. ?]
There is no mistake:
What is seen on the flatness,
The one that heads towards the new one [the new one==ONEness of HEARTs]
Is this.
Let us drink sip by sip,
Let us share with each one who says,
“Let us drink.”
Omar says:
Do not confiscate seven, [do not be obsessed with getting seven]
Do not see six as abundant.
Do not regard the one who takes one, with disdain.
If you regard [him/her with disdain],
Find your equivalent,
Stay with your equivalent.
We gave before:
To find oneself happens
By knowing every hal.
You can not find before knowing,
You can not become [spiritually] mature before finding,
You can not love before maturing [spiritually].
Say
Not ‘I-you’
But ‘we/us,’
Find ONEness in ‘we/us.’
There is salvation in ONEness.
When one becomes ONE,
There is ‘keramet’ in the universe. [keramet=1. miracle worked by God through a person. 2. the God-given power of working miracles.]
The one who is born does not look at the one who dies; [birth==1. To come to one’s senses, 2.Migration to after earth life]
No tear flows [drops] from the one who dies. [human who comes to his/her senses, i.e. when human perceives The Meaning, he/she dies before dying [i.e. he/she knows the order of the universe while in body on earth]; he/she is not scared of death…]
At the place where [spiritual] water flows, [spiritual water==ONEness of HEARTs' teachings]
Human’s word does not go.
[It is thought that the previous two verses point out that the time of spiritual guidance by preaching is over…]
Say to the one who says,
“We did”:
If my place is at my summit,
If my voice comes to [reaches] all [humans],
I shout saying, “Become ONE!”
I call HIS each human.
Yet waiting is ‘adding day to day.’
The day that is waited for
Will of course be born,
Each bridge will be tied to one another.
“Let it be bright, let it come quickly,” is being said.
We gave before,
It is weaved in the universe like in the example of web.
Not feast but example is necessary.
It is necessary to take the ‘undressing’ [undressing==to take the ego off]
Not to the end
But to the front.
If duty is given,
It is because it is seen that one conformed to the necessity.

Nor did I conform to the one who was not right.
If it is said, “Who is the one who is not right?”
He/she is the one who does not get purified from smoke. [he/she is the one who does not get rid of the smoke] [smoke==doubt]
Have [a] good time if you came [to earth];
[yet] Learn if you are born, [birth==to come to one’s senses]
Blessing is in that.
Know what you take, [? Know that you take, ?]
Erase the smoke in the shadow,
Then you will see the sun. [sun==Prophet Mohammad]
Whether you are snow,
Whether you are ice,
You will melt.
If human knows him/herself as water,
The state of snow-ice is the state of freeze of course.
Yet its original is still water.
For that [reason],
Let us turn to sun,
Let us melt,
Let us join the flowing water so that [flowing water==ONEness of HEARTs' teachings]
We arrive in the ocean… [ocean==God]
Let selam [peace/greeting] be to all of you,
Let hearts fill with deep love.
Let the rich know the poor,
Let the poor conform to his/her hal,
Let him/her not say, “Why? How?”,
Let him/her not ask from wind-from torrent.
Sun warms both the rich and the poor [sun==Prophet Mohammad]
As long as we know to turn [to sun].
Be entrusted to my Allah.
In HIM, know all [humans],
See all [humans] in HIM.
Beauty is that.
"To give [is] because of the path," we said.
Let one be hand in hand,
Let one be filled [in heart] on HIS earth.
He/she will come as much as he/she matures [spiritually].
Rose is known with nightingale,
It is loved like that.
Rose is in hal, [rose==Prophet Mohammad]
Nightingale is in tongue; [nightingale==saints / ONEness of HEARTs’ teachings]
Our song is on the path, hand in hand.
Say to the one who says,
“Because of chiseling”:
Because of the one that is said,
Because of the one that is given from heart.
The wish of The One Who owns:
When one is together with all [humans]
Help is from us. [us=saints]
Goodbye.
